Imogen graduated with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours) from La Trobe University in 2006. Since then, she has worked with pre-school and school aged children in Community Health, Early Childhood Intervention and school settings in both Australia and the United Kingdom.
Imogen has a passion for working with children and their families to support communication development. She has spent the last five years working in Early Childhood Intervention in Melbourne's northern suburbs, working with children with a range of developmental concerns, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and global developmental delay.
Imogen is dedicated to continuing to develop her professional skills, and is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist with Speech Pathology Australia. She is Hanen Certified in the It Takes Two To Talk and More Than Words Programs. Imogen is also trained in the PROMPT Technique for treating motor speech disorders, and has experience with alternative and augmentative communication systems including PECS and the LAMP approach to using voice output communication devices. Imogen also has experience in the treatment of feeding disorders, and is trained in the SOS approach to feeding.
Imogen considers a child's family to be vitally important in developing their child's communication skills, and works with family members to be a part of their child's therapy program and transfer strategies from the clinic into their everyday lives.
