Elissa graduated as a Speech Pathologist in 2003 from La Trobe University. She worked for over five years in the Catholic primary and secondary school system. During this time she worked in partnership with parents and teachers to assist children with a range of communication difficulties to achieve their full potential within the classroom and other settings.
Prior to joining our team, Elissa spent three years working in Early Intervention, with preschool children with developmental delays and disabilities, including Autism and Downs Syndrome. Elissa gained invaluable experience working in a team with other professionals and parents to ensure the best communication outcomes for children, whilst also ensuring intervention was fun and family-centred.
Elissa highly values ongoing Professional Development. She has completed training in the Lidcome Program, PECS, the Hanen training programs It Takes Two to Talk and More than Words, as well as DIR/Floortime training.
Elissa is a highly committed therapist who enjoys working with preschool and school aged children with speech and language difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorders and literacy difficulties.
