Helping Children with Autism

Children under the age of 7 years with a diagnosis of Autism are eligible for a package of funding from the Department of Families (FaHCSIA) under the Helping Children with Autism initiative. Speech Results is an accredited provider on the Helping Children with Autism Early Intervention Service Provider Panel.

Children with Autism may also be referred by a Paediatrician for Speech Pathology assessment and/or treatment under Medicare. The maximum number of sessions is 20. A Medicare rebate of $74.80 applies to these sessions.

Better Start Initiative

Speech Results is an accredited provider of Better Start services for children with a diagnosis of Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Fragile X, Hearing-impairment and other specified Syndromes (eg Prader Willi, Williams, Angelman, CHARGE, Microcephaly). Please phone us to discuss these referrals.

Chronic Disease Management Program

Children with complex care needs may be eligible for a Medicare Rebate ($52.95 per session) for up to 5 Speech Pathology visits per year. Children may be eligible if they require services from more than one medical or allied health practitioner (e.g. Speech Pathology PLUS Psychology, Occupational therapy, Audiology, or Medical Specialist). Ask your GP for more information about your eligibility for a CDM plan.
