Karen joined the Speech Results team in 2020. She has over 18 years experience as a Speech Pathologist working in Early Childhood development, with a particular focus on children aged 0 – 8 years. She has experience in a range of settings including Early Intervention, Mainstream and Special Developmental Schools, Kindergartens and Community Clinics, both in Australia and the United Kingdom.

Karen prides herself on her ability to quickly gain rapport with children and their families and to pitch activities at a level suited to the child’s needs. This creates fun and engaging therapy sessions for all involved.

Karen accepts referrals for a range of presenting problems including ASD (diagnosis and therapy), Developmental delays, Language delays/Late talkers, and Speech sound delays and disorders including Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS).

She has completed additional training in the Hanen More Than Words program and PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System), and also incorporates Key Word Sign and Auslan in her therapy sessions.

Karen is a strong believer in providing family centred therapy, meaning that parents and carers are heavily involved in the entire therapy process, from assessment and goal setting to the hands-on intervention with their child. This enables the family to continue providing therapy between visits, maximising the outcome of the sessions.
